Harriet, I'll have to agree. I do think GR had "something" that I can only describe as sex appeal. And, if I had to pick one feature of his to compliment, he had very pretty eyes.

BUT, in his case, sex appeal did not translate into acting talent and wasn't enough (in my book) to make him a "must see" actor or even to be enough to hold and keep the audience's gaze on a screen.

I'd much rather watch Bogie, even though he may not be as good-looking, just because he's more interesting and talented.
